Television

The program is designed to provide college students (Juniors and higher) with an opportunity to have work-related experience within a sports television network for college credit. SportsNet New York has three internships yearly:

Fall (September - December) accepting applications in June
Spring (January - May) accepting applications beginning in October
Summer (June - August) accepting applications beginning in March

Your internship is expected to reflect the length of your semester. If your school's schedule conflicts with our sessions, please note that in your cover letter. We are willing to arrange special start and ending dates to fit your school calendar.
This is an unpaid internship - for college credit only. Interns are not considered employees. sportsNet New York reserves the right to terminate a student's internship at any point for reasons such as misconduct, poor attendance, insubordination or other serious problems.

Internships for SportsNet New York are avaliable in the following areas:

Production
Marketing
Programming
Finance/Accounting
Sales

TV/F MAJORS ARE ONLY PERMITTED INTERNSHIPS IN PRODUCTION.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must be registered as a Junior or Senior in good standing with a minimum GPA of 2.5. The applicant must apply for the full duration of the internship. The amount of college credit is determined and verified by your school advisor. Students are required to work from at least 10-20 hours per week during the internship.

HOW TO APPLY:

• Eligible students must complete a SportNet New York Internship Application available from Prof. Caputi.
• Include a one page cover letter on why you would like to intern at SportsNet New York. Include what you expect to learn and career goals that might relate to your internship experience.
• Include a copy of your resume.
• Note: Your school advisor/internship coordinator must complete the bottom portion of the application to SportsNet New York. Failure to provide this information will disqualify your application.
