Open City Films, founded by Jason Kliot and Joana Vicente in 1993, is a New York–based production company dedicated to advancing independent visions in film.
Open City’s Three Seasons, featuring Harvey Keitel and the first US film to shoot in Vietnam since the war, won the Grand Jury Prize, the Audience Award, and the Best Cinematography Award at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival. Open City also produced the Miramax release Down To You. Blow Up Pictures is their digital film division. Blow Up’s first feature, Chuck & Buck was released nationwide by Artisan Entertainment. Blow Up’s second release, Series 7: The Contenders was in theaters in the spring 2001.
