New Line Cinema is a major producer and distributor of motion pictures such as Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Austin Powers series, and, more recently, Harold and Kumar Goes to White Castle. Interns will be involved with a variety of interesting and challenging projects within one of their departments.

Listed below are the specific descriptions of these internships:

Television:
Interns will gain an overall understanding of television series development. Work closely with sales and marketing to assist in the preparation of and materials for the sales/marketing of our movies and television programs to be licensed for broadcast on networks, pay channels, and syndication. Assist in the coordination of on-air promotions for all summer theatrical releases including delivery of materials and sweepstakes prizing. Assist in office duties, which includes faxing, filing, copying, script distribution, heavy phones and scheduling. Great opportunity to have hands-on experience with a development team and assist in light coverage.

Music and Business Affairs:
The intern will survey each stage of the music licensing and development process by assisting and observing the personnel in the deparments. The major responsibilities of the intern will be to organize the music files, fax correspondence, and photocopy, reading scripts and other administrative tasks.

Publicity:
Assist department with press functions, movie premieres and screenings. Responsibilities include: clipping and pasting up press breaks for reports, coordinating and organizing film title binders, helping out with administrative duties as needed, and helping with publicity events (i.e. premieres, junkets, weekend promotional events). Must have Monday availability.

E-Commerce:
The New Line Cinema Web Team needs interns to assist merchadisers, buyers and customer service representatives for their online shop. Duties include filing, faxing, organizing invoices, customer service, and contacting vendors. Must have level of knowledge of Internet, MS Word, MS Excel.

Development:
Intern will assist a fast paced, creative department with various administrative duties such as heavy phone coverage, filing, copying, etc. Interns will have the opportunity to learn how a development office operates, learn about casting, and provide feedback on potential projects. Must be able to utilize downtime by reading scripts, give notes on priority projects, read coverages, contracts. Intern must be very detail oriented, efficient, with strong organizational skills. Must have a strong work ethic, enthusiasm and take initiative. Strong interest in film development is required. Previous administrative experience is highly preferred.

Marketing:
Intern will assist President of Marketing and his two assistants. Duties include administrative assignments as well as assisting with special events (premieres, junkets). Must be extremely organized, responsible, detailed oriented, possess excellent communication and computer skills, have ability to take initiative, handle a high-pressure environment as well as multiple task.

Television Development:
This internship will gain an overall understanding of television series development. Intern will work closely with sales and marketing to assist in the preparation of materials for sales/marketing of New Line movies and television programs to be licensed for broadcast on networks, pay channels (i.e., HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Bravo, etc.) and syndication. Interns will also assist in coordination of on-air tv promotions for all summer theatrical releases, including delivery of materials and sweepstakes prizes. Office work also required.

Fine Line Acquisitions:
Fine Line Features is the independent feature film division of New Line Cinema. Interns will learn how a script becomes a film and develop a vocuabulary of contemporary film directors, writers, etc. Interns will learn what makes a film marketable and how a distributor gets the quality projects and pushes them through the system internally through screenings, reading and writing reports. Interns assist with administrative duties, scan trade magazines as reference for films being pursued by New Line Cinema, screen tapes, films, unsolicited manuscripts, log and distribute scripts.

New Media:
Gain experience in Web production and an overall understanding of the role and future of New Media in the film entertainment industry. Assist department with graphics production and maintenance of various New Line and Fine Line Web sites. Knowledge of HTML and PhotoShop desired. Experience with Flash and Web audio-video a plus. Must be Web savvy and have a great attitude!

Licensing and Merchandising:
Interns will have the opoortunity to learn the licensing business from start to finish, finding a project, reading the scripts, suggesting ideas, etc. The intern's major responsibilities will be aiding the department in providing artwork and marketing materials to licensees. The interns will also have the opportunity to aid in the creation of merchandise, including prototype design and packaging.

Fine Line Marketing:
Fine Line Features is the independent feature film division of New Line Cinema. Interns will assist the Marketing department, which includes specialized divisions such as publicity, promotions and media. Duties include administrative assignments as well as assisting with special events (premieres, junkets).
