TV production / computer graphics / Bronx and Westchester

 

Crosswalks' five state-of-the-art technical center is located on the Bronx Community campus. They offer internships in four different areas.

Master Control - Intern responsibilities include work in the playback operations, sorting and preparing tapes for air, dubbing 3/4 to BetaCam, Hi-8 to BetaCam, editing and date entry using dBase IV. Requirements: entry-level technicians or television producers, engineering, computer skills (dBase IV) and editing.

Operations - Intern responsibilities include ENG and EFP assignments with field and studio crew. Assist in editing projects. Requirements: Knowledge of basic television production, editing, and computer graphics.

Studio Operations - Interns work during pre-production in technical capacities such as: VTR operator, assistant director, camera operator, sound, teleprompter, lighting, graphics, and related administrative duties. Requirements: Various skills in TV production such as camera operation, lighting, editing and sound. (Students interested in studio placement must meet Crosswalks/BCC A-Tech qualifications.)

Video Graphics - Intern responsibilities include gathering material and information, computer graphic design, and learning how to construct computer graphics and animation. Requirements: Video toaster experience preferred, layout design, image processing, and willingness to work evenings on occasion.
