The Christophers is a nonprofit organization founded in 1945. They use mass media to encourage poeple to show personal responsibility and initiative in raising standards of public life. Their motto is "it's better to light one candle than to curse the darkness"
Interns work primarily with the Editorial department as pertains to the publishing and distribution of books, News Notes, and newspaper columns. Interns have the opportunity to learn all aspects of communications and publishing in a hands-on, friendly atmosphere. This includes how material is created, printed, publicized and distributed. General office duties are all expected of the intern.
Duties include copyediting, fact checking, research, and writing short pieces.
Depending on your writing ability, there may also be the opportunity to have your work published by The Christophers.
Applicants should have an above-average writing ability (a writing sample is required). Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Word are required.
