American Movie Classics and Romance Classics have intern positions open in the following areas:
Marketing - Interns assist in the development of AMC marketing promotions; creation of marketing materials and promotions tapes, and act as liaison with regional offices, outside agencies, and cable systems. Two or three days a week.
Public Relations - Interns assist the PR department by organizing mailings, researching mail lists, writing press releases, pitching media and working on special promotional projects. Two or three days a week.
Programming - Interns research movies for monthly programming meetings, assist traffic department in scheduling/coordinating film and program data for daily logs. Two days a week.
Creative Services - Interns assist in gathering and maintaining program information and artwork for AMC, Bravo, and IFC.
Production - Interns work with the Production department in screening films, assisting in setting up production sights, coordinating payments, occasionally helping at studio in Port Washington by coordinating scripts, assisting producers, etc. Duties include overall help in department with filing, editing scripts, typing, etc. Two or three days a week.
On-Air Promotions/Editing - Interns learn essential editing skills with ImIx VideoCube. Includes some administrative duties required in tape library. Knowledge of editing required. Desktop Non-linear editing valuable, but not essential.
On-Air Promotions/Research and Writing - Interns learn radio and TV copywriting. Opportunity to write and produce a TV promo. Some administrative work required. Broadcast writing background helpful.
