TV production

This hands-on work experience provides an opportunity to learn skills that students can incorporate into their future careers. It also offers the student exposure to the day-to-day working environment of a top rated daytime television talk show.

The Maury Show tapes at the Universal Talk Television facility in the Hotel Pennsylvania in mid-town Manhattan (across the street from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station).

Interns on this talk show assist producers, associate producers and production assistants in all areas of production. Other responsibilities including researching story leads, booking guests, assisting with view mail, answering viewer calls, travel and audience coordination. Also included are observation rotations into the control room (during taping of shows), backstage area, AVID and On-line editing.

A minimum of 2 days a week is required. Hours vary depending on the department to which the intern is assigned.

Fall semester begins Mid-August.
